Welcome to Wirral Council’s Local Planning Consultation Portal

Listed within this welcome page are all of the consultation events that are currently available for viewing.

The consultation events can be filtered by selecting a "Topic" from the ‘Show Consultations for:’ box or reached by clicking on the name of the consultation event in the "List View" table in the box below.

You will normally be asked to register or log in before being able to comment on a particular consultation event, in case we need to contact you to discuss your comments further.

Programme

The latest revision to the Council's Local Development Scheme, which sets out the programme for the preparation of Local Development Documents, was approved by the Council on 13 February and came into effect on 20 February 2012.  The revised Scheme and its accompanying Annex can be viewed through the Council's main website here.

Recent Consultations

The Council consulted on Preferred Options for the Core Strategy, a Wirral Open Space Assessment and a Wirral Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (April 2008) between November 2010 and January 2011.

Separate consultations on the Council's latest Annual Monitoring Report, the emerging Settlement Area Policies for the Core Strategy and the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (April 2011) were also undertaken in January and February 2012.  These consultations are now closed and the comments received will be added to this website over the next couple of weeks. The comments are expected to be reported to the Council's Cabinet alongside the Proposed Submission Draft Core Strategy in July 2012.

Consultation on a Draft Neighbourhood Development Plan for Devonshire Park also ended on 23 March 2012. The Residents Association will consider the comments received before submitting their revised proposals to the Council.

Current Consultations

The next consultation event is expected to be the publication of the Proposed Submission Draft Core Strategy in Summer 2012.
