Welcome to the consultation events for the emerging Core Strategy Development Plan Document for Wirral.

The Core Strategy is a key document in the emerging Local Development Framework (or Local Plan) for Wirral which will replace the Unitary Development Plan for Wirral adopted in February 2000 and will provide the long term direction for future development and investment in the Borough over the next fifteen years and beyond.  When adopted, the Core Strategy will contribute towards decisions on individual planning applications and will be used to guide the identification of site-specific land allocations.

The Council is currently working towards reporting the Proposed Submission Draft Core Strategy for approval for consultation in July 2012.

The latest consultation documents and the comments received can still be reached by selecting an option from the "List View" tab in the ‘Show Consultations for:’ box below.
